Avalanche 2 vs. Lightning 4 Post-Game Notes

The Tampa Bay Lightning, fresh off their successful west coast road trip, hosted the league leading Colorado Avalanche and came away with a 4-2 victory.

It was a statement win for the league’s hottest team. After last night’s game, Tampa’s eight-game winning streak is currently the longest active streak in the league. They’re top of the Atlantic Division with 55 points. Meanwhile, Colorado lead all NHL teams with 69 points.

Both teams had two power-plays a piece. Tampa killed both penalties for the Avalanche, but scored on one of their own power-plays. Colorado leads the league with an 85% PK rate, but it was Tampa who capitalized off a power-play with a Jake Guentzel goal at the end of the first period.

Nikita Kucherov notched two assists, earning his 300th multi-point game of his career. Darren Raddysh bagged two assists and became the first defensemen in Lightning history with a four-game multi-point streak.

Next up, they face the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
