Another major data breach!!

A new massive data breach has been reported. Hackers claim they have obtained everyone’s social security numbers and addresses. Officials suggest keeping a close watch on your credit reports.

On today’s Mike Calta Show, they covered the breach and its possible impacts. The show believes that a lot of this data was likely already exposed, and we were likely “already screwed anyways.” .

The hacking group “USDoD” alleges they stole 2.7 billion records from National Public Data, which provides personal information for background checks. This includes data from people in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, with some information possibly already leaked.

The main concern now is that people might open accounts using your identity. Officials advise monitoring your credit report and updating your passwords.
