Police: Meth found in man’s room at Tennessee nursing home

SWEETWATER, Tenn. — A Tennessee man is accused of having methamphetamine in his nursing home room, authorities said.

Charles Allen Cheek, 62, of Spring City, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, The Advocate & Democrat of Madisonville reported.

According to Sweetwater Police Officer Justin White, he responded to a call at the Sweetwater Nursing Center on July 14, the newspaper reported.

A nurse told the officer that she observed a corner cut plastic baggie that contained a crystal-like substance when she was tending to Cheek in his room, according to the Advocate & Democrat.

According to White, Cheek allegedly admitted the baggie was his and that a man brought it to him the previous night. The baggies reportedly held 0.60 grams of meth, the newspaper reported.
