Illinois man accused of mugging in Paducah, taking victim’s clothes

PADUCAH, Ky. — An Illinois man is accused of assaulting another man, taking his clothes and prescription medicines during an incident in Paducah, Kentucky, authorities said.

Joseph D. Grissom, 43, of Downers Grove, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree robbery, according to McCracken County Regional Jail online booking records.

According to the Paducah Police Department, Grissom rode a bicycle toward the victim at about 6:26 p.m. CDT on Thursday and allegedly assaulted him, WPSD-TV reported.

Police said Grissom took the man’s clothes and his prescription medication, KFVS-TV reported.

Det. Casey Steenbergen began an investigation and confirmed that Grissom was the suspect, the Marshall County Daily reported.

Police did not release the victim’s name or condition. They also did not provide details about what prompted the alleged assault, or why Grissom allegedly took the man’s clothing.
