Florida Sen. Rick Scott announces he has COVID-19

After coming into contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) has tested positive himself.

His office said he was exposed to the virus in Florida last Friday, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Scott had been in quarantine and had multiple tests that had come back negative, but on Friday morning, the politician announced he had a positive result, Politico reported.

Scott said in a statement that he is “feeling good and experiencing very mild symptoms.” He plans to work from his Florida home until he can return to the capital.
