Florida deputies seek man who stole $30K in jewelry from store in mall

BRANDON, Fla. — Authorities in west-central Florida are looking for a man they said stole $30,000 worth of jewelry from a store in a suburban Tampa mall.

According to a news release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the man stole 10 gold necklaces and a gold ring from a display cabinet inside a Zales retail jewelry store at the Westfield Brandon Mall in suburban Tampa.

Deputies said the man entered the store at about 1:36 p.m. EDT and “implied that he had a weapon,” the news release stated.

Authorities said the man was last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt and black pants, WTSP-TV reported. The man also was wearing glasses, athletic shoes and a black hat, the television station reported.

According to the sheriff’s office release, the man also has a tattoo on the right side of his neck with an “N” and wings on each side of the letter.
