The Naugatuck Fire Department was the first department to respond when the woman first got stuck using the electric home meat grinder on March 19, WFSB reported. Firefighters told the station the woman’s hand was stuck, with the top of her wrist in the chute.

New Haven fire officials told The Connecticut Post that quick decisions made early on by Naugatuck firefighters made the end surgery successful.

Officials did not release any update on how extensive the woman’s injuries are.
