Fran Haasch Donates $2,500 to Summer Tuition Fund at The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts
The Fran Haasch Law Group donated $2,500 toward tuition assistance for students attending drama and musical theater summer camps at The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
The gift is part of her firm’s commitment to giving back to the community and her law firm’s 20th-anniversary celebration. Haasch is dividing $20,000 among local nonprofit organizations that align with causes she’s passionate about, including youth arts, sports and education, food insecurity, first responders, veterans and community health and wellness.
One of the largest arts education and outreach providers in the nation, The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall offers enrichment and educational experiences to more than 45,000 students of all ages and abilities. The organization does this annually through private instruction, workshops, classes, summer camps, theater for youth, school residencies, and professional development for educators.
“Now, more than ever, we need help keeping our students enrolled in education programming. We’re committed that no child shall be denied an arts experience because of financial need,” said Sharon Painter, Corporate Partnership Manager. “We’re delighted to have the Fran Haasch Law Group sponsor our summer program and partner with us to make a difference in our community.”
Growing up, Haasch took piano, ballet and violin lessons and the arts continue to play a significant role in her life. “I didn’t love playing piano and 16 years of pliés and pirouettes didn’t make me a great dancer. But, the concentration and comprehension skills I learned through classical violin training have helped me throughout my life and career,” said Haasch, now an accomplished Suzuki method violinist.
“I was very blessed to have access to the arts, plus a mom who was happy to drive me all over the state for practice and recitals. Enrichment experiences have such a deep and lasting impact, which is why it’s so important to make the arts accessible to all kids, regardless of their financial situation.”
Added Painter, “Thanks to generous supporters like Fran, our summer campers can discover and explore their talents, meet new friends and learn from professional arts instructors. We believe the arts change lives and will continue providing access for all ages and abilities, without borders or boundaries.”
