Tampa  Cancels Fireworks

It's official. No fireworks for Tampa. Mayor Jane Castor announced this morning that the annual "Boom By The Bay" Fourth of July celebration has been canceled due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in the areas.

Tampa isn’t the only city to cancel fireworks this year; St Petersburg, Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Largo, Treasure Island and Gulfport are among cities that have already called off 4th of July events.

Mayor Castor said “the safety of the community comes first” and looks forward to a bigger celebration next year.
