Texas man accused of threatening employees with gun because food wasn’t ready

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A Texas man is accused of using a gun to threaten restaurant employees and customers because his food was not ready, authorities said.

Tommye Nichols, 32, of Spring, faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Harris County online booking records. Bail was set at $60,000.

According to Harris County Precinct 4 constables, Nichols was at a Wingstop restaurant on Wednesday and became upset when he learned his food was not ready, KHOU reported.

According to witnesses, Nichols threatened employees and customers with a weapon, the television station reported.

“Witnesses advised he walked to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun and returned to the business, demanded his food and his money back and continued to make threats,” constables said on the department’s Facebook page.

Witnesses said Nichols fled the scene. Constables located Nichols and conducted a traffic stop, KPRC reported. Nichols was identified as the driver, constables said he was in possession of a handgun, the television station reported.
