Diana Garvin, 77, gave an impromptu karaoke performance at a Goodwill store in Hamilton on Aug. 8, WXIX-TV reported.

Garvin travels to nursing homes to sing to their residents, but she was on the prowl for a new karaoke machine after the one she used broke, according to the television station.

“I wore two of them out going to the nursing home,” Garvin told WLWT-TV.

While visiting Goodwill, Garvin found what she was looking for and could not resist giving a performance to delighted customers.

“I love music and I love people,” Garvin told the television station.

John Schuerfranz, a customer at the store, took out his cellphone and recorded Garvin as she grabbed the microphone and sang.

“All of a sudden, I heard this angel singing over in electronics, and I thought, well, I got to go over and see what this is,” Schuerfranz told WXIX. “Sure enough, she was over there with her karaoke machine, and singing ‘He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.’ I thought. ' I got to share this with the world.’”

The video went viral, and Garvin said she was surprised by the attention the video generated.

“I was just used to the nursing home people, you know? I’m not used to this. I don’t think I’ve had this much attention I don’t think in all my life,” Garvin told WLWT. “When I was a girl, I was a very shy backward girl and it’s hard to believe even for me.”

Garvin said she was going to buy the karaoke machine, but someone beat her to it -- in a good way.

The customer bought the machine and handed it over to Garvin, Michael Flannery, a spokesperson for Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, told WXIX.

Garvin is grateful and eager to go back on the nursing home circuit to sing to her audiences.

“I just love music,” Garvin told the television station. “I don’t do it perfectly. I just love music, and I love people, and I have my own special way of talking to people.”
