Baby’s reaction to hearing for the first time will make your day

Videos of babies hearing for the first time never get old, and a video of a baby in Australia adds to the adorable list.

The West Australian reported that mom Taryn Blair shared a video of her son, 3-month-old Jordan Blair, hearing for the first time.

Blair told The West Australian hearing loss runs in her side of the family, so she was not surprised when Jordan failed hearing tests.

“He had the newborn hearing screening and failed the first assessment. He had another one a couple of days later and failed again,” she said. "He wouldn’t react to our dog barking or making noises. We have a 2-year-old who flinches or cries when he hears those loud noises, so we knew something wasn’t right."

After over 20 appointments, the one captured on video by Blair and her husband, Damien Blair, was a welcome change.

In the video, posted by Blair Wednesday on Facebook, baby Jordan coos and giggles as he hears a rattle for the first time.

“We went in there not knowing what to expect," Blair said. "When we had that reaction, we were so happy."

Another video, posted by Blair Thursday, shows the baby reacting to hearing his mother's voice for the first time, and he cheerfully squeals.

Blair said that a day after her son got his hearing aids, which she said were set at moderate to severe, he's been resting easier.

“Normally, he’s hard to put down, I don’t know if it had anything to do with him not being able to see or hear us. But now, when I put him down in the bouncer or in bed, he’s fine and looking around and making noises," she said.

But it doesn't work. Rocco tries one leg at first, then the other. But the sheepdog can't get on the chair, no matter how hard he tries.

Man flies off water slide down rocky cliff

A Texas man's video of himself flying off the side of a water slide and falling down a rocky cliff has gone viral on Facebook, garnering 177,000 views.

David Salmon posted the explicit slow-motion video on his Facebook page, with the caption: "Too dang old to be going down water slides. Fell off this one that is over a rocky cliff. First time in an ambulance. I'm currently in the hospital in Round Rock. Broke my arm (humerus) and fractured ribs. Multiple lacerations on my back, arms and side. Just found out I don't need surgery so that's good news! One more night in Austin, then I can go home to Dallas."

Salmon kept his sense of humor, and let his friends know that he was OK, with the hashtags #waterslide, #fail, #failvideo, #brokenarm and #notdead.

The video has been shared more than 900 times, and multiple people have posted dramatic new edits of the video in the comments section, including one person who put his water slide slip to the tune of "Ave Maria."   It is unclear from the video where the water slide is located.

Video shows black bear swimming next to kayaker

A surprising guest turned up while Matthew Garrity was kayaking on Hemlock Lake south of Rochester, New York.

A black bear was swimming by, making its way across the lake, and Garrity caught some of it on video.

Garrity told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle he was relaxing on the lake when he saw something swimming. He couldn't make out what it was, so he paddled out to investigate.

"I heard it breathing," Garrity said. "I realized what it was as soon as I heard this big gasping, grunting sound of it breathing.

"I just tried to get my kayak drifting at the same speed," Garrity said. "I put my paddle down, got my camera out and started taking the video just enough to see the front of my kayak aim towards the front of the bear. I realized I better back up."

Garrity put his camera down, picked up his oars, and gave the bear some space.

"I got a little nervous, so the video is pretty short because as soon as I saw the front of my kayak come into focus I said OK, that's enough,” Garrity told WHAM.

But the 14-second video, uploaded to Facebook Saturday, caught enough of the moment and has over 280,000 views.

Everclear Meet and greet

Who is Anna?

Anna ‘s father didn’t believe in parental discretion and exposed her to Howard Stern, the Man Show, and Dave Attell’s “Insomniac” all before she had her Bat Mitzvah. This honed her affinity and fondness for obscene humor at an early age. She later told her father that his unique parenting style “f***ed her up….in the best way possible.”

In 2012 Anna moved from her hometown of San Diego, California to Detroit, Michigan because she wanted to acquire more street cred, but also to pursue a graduate degree in evolutionary psychology. After realizing her bombastic personality and lewd sense of humor would not thrive in the academic community, she began harassing local radio broadcasting companies. She somehow convinced Greater Media Detroit to hire her after she told them in an interview that she “knew nothing and had zero experience.”

Shortly after being hired in, she met local radio legend Trudi Daniels, who has been an on-air personality for over 30 years. Daniels took a liking to Anna’s affinity for masturbation jokes and the two started a podcast in January 2014 called “The Sex I’m Not Having.” In March 2015 she saw an ad for a position with 102.5 The Bone in Tampa, Florida. She decided this was her next target, and her M.O. of “harassment into submission” went into full effect. After 10 months of countless calls, emails, direct messages on social media, and a few packages in the mail, she was hired. In April 2016 she made the conventional Jewish migration to the Sunshine State, albeit about 40 years premature.
