   Amberjack continue to be strong offshore reports Capt. Jesse Mayer. The action around wrecks and springs in 100 feet has been fair, but 150 feet has been the magic depth according to Mayer.

   Heavy tackle with blue runners, or hand size pinfish, for bait is the standard game plan. However, chumming with live white bait, if you can find it, will bring the A.J.’s to the top for great sight fishing action on light tackle and fly rods.

   Capt. Billy Miller has been wearing out the big trout in Boca Ciega Bay and the Ft. Desoto area. Soft plastics like Love Lures, DOA Shrimp and Lil Johns is all that has been needed to catch your limit.

   Maximo Marina says anglers fishing the St. Pete docks and sea walls have been doing well on sheepshead using live shrimp. A few redfish and trout have also been included in the catches.

   Variety is the name of the game in Charlotte Harbor. Capt. Van Hubbard says trout, redfish, snook, pompano and sheepshead are all part of the daily catch. Live shrimp under a rattle cork has been the hot ticket along with jigs for the pompano.

   Reports from anglers fishing the Aripeka area indicate good speckled trout action on Mirrodine and CAL jigs. Big black drum are also in the game for anglers using live shrimp.

   Fishing in the Homosassa areas continues to be good with this warm weather. Gator MacRae and friends caught lots of trout, redfish, and pompano near the St. Martin Keys on the incoming tide. Sheepsheads are gathering up on the close in rocks.
