Run with Galvin from The Mike Calta Show and Chuck Henson from Bay News 9 in the 2017 Tampa-St. Pete Mad Dash 5K on Saturday April 22nd at Weedon Island Preserve in St Pete. Proceeds support the music education programs at Seminole High School.
The 2017 Tampa-St. Pete Mad Dash 5K is a combinations street and trail run in Pinellas County, Florida. The start and finish are at the Weedon Island Cultural Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. The course runs through the Cultural Center parking lot to Weedon Drive, east to the Fishing Pier, then doubles back west along Weedon Drive to the second trail entry.
For the next 2.1 miles participants run under the canopy on the trails at Weedon Island. The course path is varied, from sand trails to a dirt path (and yes, maybe some mud). There are twists and turns in the path, bridges to cross and an abundance of wildlife to experience, including the protected Gopher Tortoise. Finishers receive the commemorative Mad Dash Dog Tag, water, fruit and the satisfaction of knowing they have supported music education on a local and national level!
