Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is not expected back for the team's Week 10 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Vick is dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out of the team's Week 9 matchup against the Oakland Raiders.
Nick Foles started that game, and played incredibly well. He completed 22 of 28 passes for a whopping 406 yards and a ridiculous seven touchdowns. He may have secured the starting job going forward, regardless of what happens with Vick and his injury.
Vick last played against the New York Giants in Week 8, but only attempted nine passes before leaving with an injury. Before that, he played against the Giants in Week 5, but left that game due to injury as well. That was where he sustained the initial hamstring injury. What followed was a string of injuries, including a concussion to Foles that caused rookie Matt Barkley to get significant playing time.
Barkley did not perform well. But Foles has, and looks to be the guy going forward, even when Vick does return.
Fantasy Impact: Foles certainly made a name for himself in Week 9. While we can't expect seven touchdowns each week, he's likely a strong option going forward, especially given some of the teams Philadelphia will play in the coming weeks. Vick might have lost his job and his fantasy value hasn't been lower than it is now in a long, long time.
