Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller is expected to return to team practice this week, according to Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Miller took part in individual drills in the lead-up to Week 1, but hasn't practiced in any team drills to this point.
Miller tore his ACL last season and only returned to practice in any capacity last week. It seems very unlikely he's ready to go for Week 2, but he avoided the PUP list and injured reserve, so the team obviously expects him back prior to the six-week mark.
It seems likely that Miller will take part in practice with the team in a limited role and avoid all contact. How he feels on Thursday will be the biggest factor in where he goes from there. If he has tightness or swelling, he could be shut down for another week or so.
Fantasy Impact: Miller is a desirable fantasy option, or he would be if he were healthy. He was well on his way to 1,000-plus yards last season, but the injury cut it short. When he does return to action, he'll be right back in the thick of things in Pittsburgh's passing game. Ben Roethlisberger loves throwing to him, and he will be a must-start at some point this season. However, it's extremely unlikely he's ready for Week 2.
