Academy Award winning actor Jamie Foxx may be taking on the most significant role of his career. According to The Wrap
, Foxx is being considered to play civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in a film directed by Oliver Stone.

The DreamWorks/Warner Brothers production will present MLK's life going from a Atlanta preacher to national figure to his 1968 assassination. King's children, Dexter King, Bernice King and Martin Luther King III, are reportedly on board as executive producers. Steven Spielberg is also attached as a producer.
The script was written by Kario Salem (The Score
, Chasing Mavericks
). Salem's screenplay is based on three years of research and interviews.
Several other MLK biopics have been in the works over the years, but the DreamWorks film is the only one endorsed by the King family.
