The annual East-West Shrine Game originated in
1925, and is the longest-running college all-star football game in the
country. It features some of the highest-rated NFL draft prospects. Since the
inception, 62 East-West Shrine Game alumni have been inducted into the Pro
Football Hall of Fame and 246 are currently active on NFL rosters. At the
East-West Shrine Game, NFL scouts and coaches have an opportunity to assess
the future stars of the National Football League.
The 87th Annual East-West Shrine Game® will be played Saturday January 21, 2012 at 4 p.m., EST, benefitting the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children® in the United States, Canada and Mexico. For the past 86 years, this game has proven to be the launching pad for numerous NFL players. Tom Brady, John Elway, Eddie George, Greg Jennings, Brett Favre and numerous other future stars all showcased their talents in this game. There are 246 former Shrine Game players in the NFL now, and 62 East-West Game alumni are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Forty-five players from the 2011 game were selected in this year’s National Football League draft.Tickets / Time TBA
