When we held a Florida-Friendly Landscaping event in Seffner in August 2012, feedback received was that we should hold these educational events every 6 or 12 months.  You spoke.  We listened.Residents are invited to learn how to manage their lawns and landscaping at the next Florida-Friendly LandscapingTM 101: Wallet-Wise Watering Tips event at the Hillsborough Community College, Dale Mabry Campus, Tampa. By attending, you will hear the best and the latest from University of Florida and local Hillsborough County Extension Service horticulturists on such topics as: Best Management PracticesThe Disease Triangle and IrrigationIrrigation AuditsNew Irrigation TechnologiesMicroirrigationRetention PondsHigh Color, Drought Tolerant and Low Maintenance PlantsGroundcovers as Alternatives to TurfWhy Turfgrass FailsThis event starts with a General Session from 9:00-9:20am, followed by a series of three sets of three workshops held simultaneously.  Attendees need to select which one of the three workshops you want to attend at each of the three separate 45-minute long presentations.  There will be a wrap-up which includes give-aways and surveys from 12:30pm-1:00pm.  Vendors will be on-site.  Each household must register individually.  Space is limited, so register early!  There is no registration fee for this learning event.  This event is sponsored by the City of Tampa Water Department.
