Market to Menu: Incorporating Seafood into your Heart-Healthy DietIntroducing Wonderful Wednesdays at Weedon* February is American Heart Month.  The American Heart Association recommends eating seafood twice a week to improve your heart health. But, with so many consumer options, selecting and preparing seafood for you and your family can seem a daunting task these days.  Wild Caught or Farmed? Local or Imported? Does fish need a stamp to be sustainable? Should I worry about mercury in my seafood? How many Omega 3's do I need in my diet? Join Pinellas County Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, along with Pinellas County Sea Grant Agent, as we demystify the world of seafood.  From choosing fish at the market, to selecting a recipe at home, we will walk you through the process and provide you with valuable resources.  The educational program will include hands-on cooking demonstrations. Recommended for Adults of all ages.  *On a trial basis, Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center will be open from 9am-4pm on Wednesdays (February, March, April 2013) in addition to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  For more information please contact (727) 453-6500Reservation policy Before continuing, we would like to make you aware of our reservation policies.
