Below is a list of the topics we will cover in the workshop:Set up a LinkedIn Profile and upload your resume to populate most of your profile.Edit your profile to fix/change content,  add keywords, add new sections (e.g. Certifications section), etc. Upload the contact in your email address book and selectively invite some of those peopl to connect with you on LinkedIn.Edit the various sections of your profile.Build a large group of Level 1 Connections fast.Get recommendations from your connections (ones you can use in your resume as Testimonials).Upload a photo of yourself (businesslike photo).Add skills to your Skills & Expertise section (max 50) Join existing LinkedIn Discussion Groups or create one of your own if you like to promote yourself as an expert in your field (max 50 groups allowed) Access messages in your Inbox, Sent and Archive folders and compose a New message.Find jobs via the LinkedIn Job Board and in the Jobs sub-group inside the Discussion Groups you’ve joined..Establish connections with other LinkedIn members that you don't know, especially those in companies you're targeting who could provide you with insider information and give you a referral.Learn how to follow a company so you can track personnel who are new, moving to a different position, or leaving the company – all of which points to potential job openings or employment growth in the company.  And growth in a company usually translates into business opportunities for other businesses that can or will serve them. Learn how to find people in your target companies using the LinkedIn People search who can be your Champion in getting a job in the company or helping you sell your products/services to the company.  With this search, you can find current employees, past employees or both.  Current employees can give you insider information such as a hiring manager's infornmation, the problems and new initiativies a departmetn/company is facing and even give you a personal referral.  Past employees may be able to give you a more honest perspective about the company's business practices, ethics, etc. since current employees may be afraid to talk about them.  Between the current and  past employees, you can learn a lot that can help you in your job search or business.Master techniques for increasing your ranking in LinkedIn so you show up higher in search results.  Remember, people with unpaid LinkedIn service can only see the top 100 records in a search result.  Those paying can see more but they still are limited in the number of records they see in search results as well.  So the higher you're ranked, the better the chances are you'll be seen in anyone's search results. Upload/display a short, compelling marketing presentation in a viewer inisde your profile to sell yourself to hiring managers, HR staff and recruiters searching for candidate on LinkedIn (done with the SlideShare application). Upload/display work sampl.es along with a short, 4 line compelling story for each.  For job seekers, this could be work samples to display in your profile to further sell yourself to hiring managers, HR staff and recruiters (done with either SlideShare or BOX.net).  For businesses, it could be photos of successful projects and the like. How to use the WordPress Application to create your own BLOG, have it linked to your LinkedIn Profile, and send update to all your connections.  A BLOG can help you be viewed an an expert in your field, either as a job seeker or as business that wants to stand out from their competition.Create a Reading List by Amazon that contains books you personally recommend.  Again, this can make you stand out as an expert in your field.
