We will do an intro to Kimball style (star schema) data warehouse database modeling, covering concepts like slowly-changing dimensions Type 0,1,2,3,4 & 6, role-playing dimensions, attributes, facts, measures, hierarchies, parent-child relationships, and more. Attendees will learn how to develop SSIS Packages to load a data warehouse, Analysis Services Cubes & basic MDX, Reporting Services reports and Performance Point dashboards. In addition, attendees will learn how to implement self-service BI using PowerPivot and Power View. This is a hands-on workshop with group and individual labs. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops with installed software.
