Pre-con #1:  End-to-end Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing with SQL Server  When: Thursday November 15th, 2012 9:00am to 5:00pm  Presented by: Jose Chinchilla, MCITP This full-day workshop aims to provide attendees with conceptual knowledge and practical skills to design and develop a multidimensional Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solution. We will do an intro to Kimball style (star schema) data warehouse database modeling, covering concepts like slowly-changing dimensions Type 0,1,2,3,4 & 6, role-playing dimensions, attributes, facts, measures, hierarchies, parent-child relationships, and more. Attendees will learn how to develop SSIS Packages to load a data warehouse, Analysis Services Cubes & basic MDX, Reporting Services reports and Performance Point dashboards. In addition, attendees will learn how to implement self-service BI using PowerPivot and Power View. This is a hands-on workshop with group and individual labs. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops with installed software.
