This course prepares students to function as EKG Technicians and to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) - Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician National Certification Exam (NHA-CET). Get prepared for EKG 12-Lead Placement and EKG/ECG Interpretations with basic practice and background information on anatomy and physiology, of the heart and medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, and legal aspects of patient contact. This course will include practice with equipment and perform hands-on labs including introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper lead placement, 12-lead placement and other clinical practices. EKG Technicians also analyze printed readings of EKGs, measuring various cardiac intervals and complexes and determining normal vs. abnormal EKGs
